Kintsugi Heroes share their real-life stories about overcoming adversity to provide hope and inspiration to people who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing similar challenges.
Kintsugi Heroes are partnering with the Myrtleford Neighbourhood Centre to improve community connectedness, cohesion and resilience following the Alpine fires by capturing and telling the overcoming adversity stories of some of the Alpine local “Kintsugi Heroes”.
This event celebrates the official launch of the book
that tells the incredibly moving stories of people from the Alpine community.
Our mission is “helping people uncover their hidden value”.

The Initial Idea
In August 1993 Ian Westmoreland wrote to several community leaders about an idea he had for a new type of book where well-known identities who had experienced adversity would share part of their life story to provide….

We are living in a time of increasing adversity. Following the disruption of Covid, and escalating financial and political instability around the world, it is increasingly difficult for our communities to live with hope and optimism. This is particularly the case for our younger society.
Kintsugi Heroes share their real-life stories about overcoming adversity to provide hope and inspiration to people who may be experiencing or at risk of experiencing similar challenges.
We are not a commercial business. The purpose and philosophy behind Kintsugi Heroes means we are operating for the benefit of people and our communities, rather than profit.
