Meeting the NSW Governor: Ian receives his OAM

On September 19th, our founder, Ian Westmoreland, was formally recognized for his incredible contributions to the community with the prestigious Order of Australia Medal (OAM). The ceremony took place at the historic Government House in Sydney, where Ian was honoured for his tireless work in creating platforms that uplift and inspire individuals facing adversity.

Ian’s journey as a changemaker began with his passion for helping others find strength in their stories. Through Kintsugi Heroes, Ian has helped countless people share their experiences of resilience, offering a voice to those often unheard. His work extends far beyond storytelling, fostering deeper community connections and supporting those who are navigating difficult life circumstances.

At the ceremony, Ian was accompanied by his wife, Helen, and two members of the Kintsugi Heroes team, Patricia Waghorn and Chris Ireland. It was a moment of pride not only for Ian but for everyone involved in Kintsugi Heroes. The recognition shines a spotlight on the powerful work being done to bring people together through shared human experiences.

Receiving the OAM is a testament to Ian’s unwavering commitment to making the world a better place, one story at a time. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and look forward to continuing this meaningful work together.
